Salsicce to white beans in tomato sauce

Lunch like in Italy: We serve white beans in tomato sauce with fine fennel sausage. Simple and delicious!

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 6 Stem(s) Sage
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Olive oil
  • 1 can(s) (850 ml) Tomatoes
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 can(s) (850 ml each) broad beans
  • 4 Salsicce sausages (à approx. 100 g; coarse Italian sausage with fennel)

Directions

    Wash the sage, dab dry, remove the leaves and chop. Peel garlic and cut into thin slices. Peel and chop onion. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a saucepan. Sauté onion and garlic.

    Add tomatoes, bring to the boil and simmer for about 15 minutes. While doing so, crush the tomatoes with a spatula. Stir in sage. Season to taste with salt, pepper and sugar.

    Pour the beans into a sieve, rinse with cold water and drain. Add the beans to the tomato sauce and cook for about 10 minutes on a low heat.

    Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan. Fry the salsicca in it for about 6 minutes. Serve the beans with toamt sauce and salsicca. Ciabatta tastes good with it.
