Quark casserole with strawberries

Ingredients

  • 50 g Half-fat butter
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 40 g Amaretti
  • 500 g Low-fat curd
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated rind of 1 untreated lemon
  • 7-10 Tbsp pulp from 2 vanilla beans
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Semolina
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 300 g Strawberries
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Orange juice
  • 7-10 Tbsp Amaretti
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and sugar

Directions

    Melt the fat, separate the eggs, coarsely chop the amaretti. Mix quark, fat, egg yolk, lemon peel, vanilla pulp and semolina until smooth. Beat the egg white until stiff. Sprinkle in sugar. Continue beating until the sugar has dissolved. Fold the beaten egg whites and amaretti into the quark mixture. Pour into a greased casserole dish sprinkled with sugar (approx. 1 litre capacity).

    Slide the fat pan into the bottom rail. Fill with boiling water. Place the casserole on a grid. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 1 hour. In the meantime wash, clean and halve the strawberries. Sprinkle with orange juice and let stand. Serve the casserole and marinated strawberries garnished with amaretti immediately
