Place all the ingredients for the dough in a bowl and work through first with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Then knead with your hands to a smooth dough. Wrap in foil and chill for 30 minutes.
Bring 3/8 litres of milk to the boil and pour over the ground poppy seeds. Leave to swell briefly. Stir 1/8 litre milk and the pudding powder until smooth. Bring the rest of the milk to the boil, add the pudding powder and bring to the boil while stirring.
Stir in poppy seeds (or poppy seed bake) and let it cool down a little. Add eggs, sugar, raisins and breadcrumbs and mix. Roll out 3/4 of the dough on a floured work surface and line the fat pan of the oven with it.
Smooth the poppy seed mixture over it. Roll out the rest of the dough and roll out approx. 1 cm wide strips. Place as a grid on the poppy seed mixture. Bake in the preheated oven (electric oven: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 45 minutes.
Let the cake cool down. Dust with icing sugar. Makes about 25 pieces.
