Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 1 glass (370 ml) Sour cherries
  • 1 (15 g) heaped tablespoon of cornflour
  • 2 TABLESPOONS cherry brandy
  • 75 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 400 g Cream curd
  • 1 package Bourbon vanilla sugar
  • 2 TABLESPOONS ground poppy seeds or grated chocolate
  • 7-10 Tbsp Mint

Directions

  1. 1

Drain the cherries and collect the juice. Boil up the juice. Stir starch and 3 tablespoons of water until smooth. Bind juice with it. Stir in cherry brandy and fold in cherries. Let cool down

  2. 2

Cut marzipan into fine pieces. Mix the quark, marzipan and vanilla sugar with the whisk of the hand mixer until smooth. Add poppy seeds or grated chocolate

  3. 3

Alternately layer the poppy seed marzipan quark and the cherries in four dessert glasses. Chill for about 30 minutes. Decorate with mint

  4. 4

-Ground poppy seeds are available in health food shops: you can have them freshly ground or buy vacuum-packed (pack = 200 g). Keeps in the refrigerator for about 1 week

  5. 5

-If you do not want the cherries to thicken, you can take compote out of the glass (e.g. from Schwartau and Odenwald)
