Penne with sausage balls in tomato sauce

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 2 Onions
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 4 Salsicce (Italian sausage with fennel; approx. 80 g each)
  • 300 g Onion Malt
  • 1 TABLESPOON Tomato paste
  • 1 pck (each 500 g) chunky tomatoes
  • 1 TABLESPOON dried Italian herbs
  • 400 g Noodles (e.g. penne)
  • 150 g frozen peas
  • 125 g Mozzarella
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper

Directions

    Boil up plenty of salted water. Peel and chop onions and garlic. Heat the oil in a large pan. Press the sausage meat directly from the skin as dumplings into the hot oil and fry for about 3 minutes. Add onion and garlic and fry briefly. Stir in tomato paste and sauté briefly. Add the chopped tomatoes, 200 ml water and dried herbs, bring to the boil and simmer for about 10 minutes.

    Cook the pasta in boiling water according to the instructions on the packet. Stir peas into the sauce and simmer for another 5 minutes. Cut mozzarella into small pieces.

    Season the sauce with salt and pepper. Drain the pasta and put it back into the pot. Add sauce and mozzarella. Mix everything, season with salt and pepper.
