Break chocolate into pieces. Bring the cream to the boil, remove from the heat and melt the chocolate in it while stirring.
Whisk the egg in a deep dish. Wash, quarter, core and cut the pears into slices.
Sprinkle with lemon juice. Turn first in flour, then in egg and finally in grated coconut. Press the breadcrumbs well.
Heat butter in a coated pan. Fry the pear wedges in it until golden brown on both sides. Arrange immediately and dust with icing sugar. Decorate with melissa and serve with chocolate sauce.
