Ingredients

  • 1 untreated orange
  • 175 g soft butter
  • 250 g Icing sugar
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 250 g Flour
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS Sugar
  • baking paper

Directions

    Wash the orange and rub dry. Rub the peel thinly. Chop half of the orange peel very finely

    Cream butter, 100 g icing sugar and fine orange zest with the whisk of the hand mixer. Stir in the egg first, then the flour. Pour the dough into a piping bag with a small star-shaped spout. Spray 15 small trees on 2 baking trays lined with baking paper. Put the trays in a cool place for about 1 hour.

    Mix sugar and remaining orange peel and let dry

    Bake the trays one after the other in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 8-10 minutes. Take out and let cool on a cake rack

    Halve the orange and squeeze the juice. Sift 150 g icing sugar into a bowl. Add approx. 2 tablespoons orange juice and mix to a thin icing

    First spread a thin layer of icing on the little trees, then sprinkle them with sugar and let them dry
