Ingredients

Servings: 16
  • 3 medium-sized onions
  • 250 g medieval Gouda cheese
  • 1 (approx. 150 g) thick slice of cooked ham
  • 750 g Pork sausage
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 1 thick, rustic baguette (400-450 g)
  • 50-60 g Butter or margarine
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sweet peppers
  • 1 TEASPOON dried oregano
  • baking paper

Directions

    Peel the onions, dice two finely and cut the third into thin rings. Cut cheese into thick, cooked ham into fine cubes. Knead the ground pork, ham, diced onions and 150 g cheese cubes. Season with a little pepper. Cut the baguette in half crosswise and then cut both halves in half lengthwise.

    Brush all 4 halves with fat. Then add the Mett-cheese mixture, sprinkle with the remaining cheese cubes and press everything down well. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper and sprinkle with onion rings, sweet paprika and dried oregano. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for 45 - 50 minutes. Cut the finished Mett-Baguettes into 4 pieces and serve lukewarm
