Clean, wash and cut the peppers into pieces. Clean, wash and halve the mushrooms. Fry mushrooms in hot oil for about 3 minutes. Take them out of the pan. Then fry the giros and peppers in portions for 8-10 minutes.
Put everything back in the pan. Mix the metaxa and tomato puree, pour on and bring to the boil once. Pour into an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in a preheated oven (electric: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for 10-15 minutes.
