Ingredients

Servings: 6
  • 100 g dried tomatoes in oil (glass)
  • 1 bunch/pot of basil
  • 200 g Sheep's cheese
  • 200 g Double cream cheese
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt and pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp a little + 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 Onions
  • 800 g mixed mince
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Breadcrumbs
  • 1 (500 g) packet of chunky tomatoes
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cling film

Directions

  1. 1

Drain the dried tomatoes and dice them. Wash basil, shake dry, cut leaves into strips. Crumble feta cheese. Mix fresh and feta cheese, diced tomatoes and basil using a fork.

  2. 2

Season with pepper. Preheat oven (electric cooker: 200°C/circulating air: 175°C/gas: see manufacturer). Lightly oil a baking tray.

  3. 3

Peel and chop the onions. Knead half with minced meat, egg and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

Shape the mince on cling film into a flat rectangle (approx. 25 x 35 cm). Spread sheep's cheese cream over it, leaving a rim of approx. 1.5 cm wide. Roll up from the short side using the foil.

  5. 5

Place on a baking tray with the seam facing down. Bake in a hot oven for about 1 hour. After approx. 45 minutes add 150 ml water.

  6. 6

In the meantime heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pot. Brown the rest of the onions in it. Add chunky tomatoes and bring to the boil. Cover the sauce and simmer at low heat for about 15 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and 1 pinch of sugar.

  7. 7

Arrange the chopped roll and add the tomato sauce. Roast potatoes go well with it.
