Peel garlic and chop very finely. Coarsely chop the nuts. Mix vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar and garlic. Add nuts and beat oil into it. Wash, clean, quarter, seed and finely chop the tomatoes. Clean, wash, dab dry and tear lettuce into pieces.
Cut cheese into slices. Arrange salad leaves and cheese on four plates. Drizzle vinaigrette over them and sprinkle with diced tomatoes. Serve garnished with basil as desired. Serve with e.g. farmhouse bread
