Lemon chicken with herb baguette

Ingredients

  • 1 ready-to-cook chicken (approx. 1.2 kg)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp black pepper
  • 2 untreated lemons
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 1 TABLESPOON clear honey
  • 2 (160 g each) Herb Butter Baguettes
  • 7-10 Tbsp Kitchen yarn
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

    Wash chicken thoroughly inside and out, dab dry and season with salt and pepper. Wash lemons thoroughly and cut one lemon into slices. Put 4 lemon slices into the chicken.

    Tie the legs together with kitchen yarn. Place the chicken on a lightly greased baking tray. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) on the lower rack for 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours.

    After 30 minutes add 250 ml of water. Remove the zest from the remaining lemon in fine strips using a zest ripper. Halve the lemon and squeeze it. Mix oil with honey, lemon juice and zest.

    After 1 hour, brush the chicken with the mixture, place the remaining lemon slices on top or around the chicken and finish frying. Place baguettes on the oven rack. Slide over the chicken for the last 6-8 minutes and bake.

    Serve chicken with baguette.
