Ingredients

  • 4 Onions
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1.5 kg Pork shoulder
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Olive oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp dried oregano and thyme
  • 7-10 Tbsp ground cumin and coriander
  • 200 g red pepper
  • 3 discs (50 g each) streaky smoked bacon
  • 200 g Cucumber
  • 600 g French fries (oven)
  • 200 g Greek cream yoghurt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Peppers and Oliven
  • 7-10 Tbsp Chili Flakes
  • baking paper
  • 12 Kebabs

Directions

    Peel onions and garlic. Wash the meat, dab dry. Cut half of the meat into 36 15-20 g cubes. Cut the rest of the meat into strips. Cut 1 onion into strips, chop garlic finely.

    Mix the meat strips, onion, half of the garlic, 1 tablespoon of oil. Season with pepper, oregano, thyme, cumin and coriander. Put it in a cold place. Clean, wash and cut the peppers into 16 cubes.

    1 Onion in columns cut. Quarter bacon slices. Put meat cubes, paprika, bacon and onion slices on the skewers. For the tzatziki, wash and clean the cucumber. Cut off some slices to garnish.

    Roughly grate the rest on a grater. Cut 1 onion into fine cubes. Mix yoghurt, cucumber, onion and remaining garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Line the fat pan of the oven with baking paper.

    Spread some French fries on it. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 18-22 minutes. Cut 1 onion into rings. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wide frying pan.

    Fry the skewers in 2 portions while turning for approx. 5 minutes, season with salt and pepper and keep the finished skewers warm. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and fry the gyros vigorously. Season with salt.

    Take out chips and season with salt. Arrange everything on plates and garnish with onion, cucumber, pepperoni and olives. Sprinkle with chilli.
