Let strawberries thaw at room temperature. Halve the lime and squeeze the juice. Remove 2 tablespoons of juice. Dip the edges of the glasses into the juice, let them drip off a little, then dip them into the cane sugar, also let them dry a little over head
Place the strawberries, vanilla sugar and remaining lime juice in a tall mixing bowl. Puree finely with a blender. Stir in well chilled kefir. Results in approx. 900 ml. Fill into glasses, serve decorated with lemon balm
