Ingredients

Servings: 20
  • 175 g Honey
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 25 g Butter or margarine
  • 300 g Flour
  • 1/2 package Baking Powder
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Cinnamon powder
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS Gingerbread spice
  • 250 g Icing sugar
  • 3-4 Tbsp Lemon juice
  • 7-10 Tbsp sugar pearls
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Food colouring
  • 7-10 Tbsp several small freezer bags
  • 7-10 Tbsp Cling film
  • baking paper

Directions

  1. 1

Heat honey, sugar and fat until the sugar is dissolved. Let the mixture cool down again. Mix flour and baking powder, sieve into a bowl. Add egg and spices. Put the honey mixture in the middle and knead everything with the dough hooks of the hand mixer to a smooth dough.

  2. 2

Wrap the dough in foil and let it rest for about 2 hours. Then roll out the dough on a floured work surface approx. 1/2 cm thick and cut out dwarves (e.g. 13.5 cm x 4.5 cm). Place on 2 baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake the trays one after the other in a preheated oven (electric range: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for about 15 minutes. Let the cookies cool down on a cake rack. In the meantime, mix icing sugar and lemon juice to a glaze. Spread the icing on several bowls and colour them differently with food colouring. Fill into freezer bags and cut off a small corner each. Decorate the dwarves with icing and sugar beads and sprinkle with sugar beads if necessary.
