Express steaks in onion whiskey sauce

Ingredients

Servings: 2
  • 3 Onions
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Butter
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, pepper
  • 2 Rib eye steaks (approx. 250 g each)
  • 1 TABLESPOON Oil
  • 1 TABLESPOON Flour
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Barbecue sauce (bottle)
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Whiskey
  • 7-10 Tbsp Aluminium foil

Directions

    Onions peel, in strips cut. 2⁄3 Steam covered in hot butter for about 15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

    Pat the steaks dry. Fry in hot oil for 3-4 minutes on each side. Season with salt and pepper. Wrap in foil.

    Sauté the rest of the onions in the frying fat. Dust with flour. Dissolve frying fat with 200 ml water. Stir in barbecue sauce, bring to the boil and simmer for about 5 minutes. Season to taste with whiskey, salt and pepper. Arrange everything.

    It goes well with farmhouse bread.
