Ingredients

Servings: 1
  • 2 kg Apples (e.g. Elstar)
  • 60 ml Lemon juice
  • 7-10 Tbsp Kitchen paper or clean tea towel

Directions

  1. 1

Wash the apples and grate them dry well. Core the apples with an apple corer and cut them into approx. 0.5 cm thin slices. Mix lemon juice and 125 ml water. Turn the apple slices briefly in it and let them drip off well on kitchen paper or a tea towel

  2. 2

Depending on the manufacturer's instructions, place apple slices in an automatic drying machine and dry. Depending on the type of apple and machine, this takes 4-8 hours. Alternatively, place the apple slices on baking trays lined with baking paper and dry in the oven at 80°C. Leave the oven wide open. You can use a wooden spoon between the oven door for example.

  3. 3

Store well packed e.g. in glasses in a dry, cool and dark place. Then the dried apple will keep for several months.
