Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 1-2 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp salt, sweet paprika
  • 2 (approx. 1.1 kg) small or 1 large turkey leg
  • 1 (approx. 800 g) small white cabbage
  • 2 medium-sized onions
  • 1 can(s) (850 ml) Tomatoes
  • 7-10 Tbsp black pepper
  • 1/2-1 TEASPOON Caraway seeds
  • 1/8 l clear soup
  • 7-10 Tbsp Parsley

Directions

  1. 1

Mix oil, salt and paprika powder. Wash turkey legs and pat dry. Brush them all around with the oil and place them in a roasting pan with the skin side up. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 ºC/circulating air: 175 °C/gas: level 3) open for 1 1/4-1 3/4 hours

  2. 2

Clean, wash and quarter the cabbage and remove the stalk. Cut the cabbage into strips. Peel and roughly dice the onions

  3. 3

Spread cabbage, onions and tomatoes together with the juice around the legs after about 30 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and caraway. Pour on the stock and continue to braise. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Arrange everything and garnish with parsley. Boiled potatoes taste good with it

  4. 4

Savoy cabbage or pointed cabbage are also suitable for the cabbage. If you do not like caraway, you can season the cabbage with marjoram or oregano instead
