Crispy stick bread and red fruit punch

Ingredients

  • 250 g + some flour
  • 1 TEASPOON Sugar
  • 1 package Dry yeast
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 200 g Sweet cherries
  • 2 Kiwi
  • 2 Nectarines
  • 500 g Watermelon
  • 1 Lemon
  • 1/4 l Cherry nectar
  • 1/4 l apple juice
  • 3/4 l Sparkling mineral water
  • 8 (approx. 1 cm Ø) Woodblocks

Directions

    First, pour 250 g flour, sugar, yeast and 1/2 teaspoon salt into a mixing bowl and mix everything. Add oil and 1/8 l lukewarm water. Knead for about 2 minutes with the dough hooks of the hand mixer to a smooth dough.

    Leave the yeast dough to rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes. Carve the ends of the wooden sticks pointedly. Let your parents help you with this.

    Wash, stalk and stone the cherries. Peel the kiwi, wash the nectarines and cut along the stone all around. Turn the halves against each other so that they come loose. Remove the stones.

    Cut the melon open and remove the flesh, removing the seeds. Now cut the whole fruit into small pieces and fill it into a bowl. Halve the lemon and squeeze it.

    Pour cherry nectar, apple and lemon juice on the fruit and chill. Knead the dough again on a work surface sprinkled with flour. Form it into a roll (approx. 24 cm), cut it into 8 pieces.

    Form a thin roll of each piece (approx. 40 cm). Place a roll on the pointed end of a stick. Wrap it spirally around it. Press well. Do the same with the other rolls.

    Now place the wooden sticks with the stick bread on the hot grill or hold them over a fire. Bake the stick bread for 12-15 minutes (over a fire it takes much shorter). Do not forget to turn or turn the bread frequently! Pour the fruit punch with well chilled mineral water just before serving.

    Then you fill the punch together with some pieces of fruit into 4 glasses, possibly with small forks for the fruit.
