Ingredients

Servings: 12
  • 2 packages Vanilla-flavoured pudding powder (for 500 ml milk each, for boiling)
  • 6 TABLESPOONS + 200 g sugar
  • 950 ml + 1-2 tablespoons of milk
  • 250 g soft butter or margarine
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 300 g Flour
  • 2 coated Tsp Baking Powder
  • 300 g Icing sugar
  • 1 Protein (size M)
  • 1 Tube red food colouring
  • 7-10 Tbsp Love beads, sugar stars and sugar beads
  • baking paper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Toothpicks

Directions

  1. 1

Mix pudding powder with 6 tablespoons of sugar. Stir with 150 ml milk until smooth. Bring 800 ml milk to the boil, remove from the heat. Stir the pudding powder into the milk. Simmer for at least 1 minute while stirring.

  2. 2

Rinse a round bowl (18 cm Ø) with cold water. Add the pudding. Place in a cool place without covering for at least 4 hours. Cream fat, 200 g sugar and salt with the whisk of the hand mixer.

  3. 3

Stir in the eggs one by one. Mix flour and baking powder and stir in. Line the fat pan of the oven (32 x 39 cm) with baking paper. Put the dough on top and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 15-25 minutes.

  4. 4

Let it cool down on a cake rack. Stir icing sugar, egg white and 1-2 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Halve the icing. Stir into one half of the food colouring. Cover and put aside. Turn the plate over and remove the baking paper, turn the plate over again.

  5. 5

Cut out two circles (18 cm Ø each) on approx. 2/3 of the plate. Cut approx. 12 squares (5x5 cm each) and 1 star (approx. 3.5 cm Ø) from approx. 1/3 of the plate. Brush half of the squares with red and half with white icing.

  6. 6

As soon as a square is painted, immediately decorate it with love beads. Brush the star with red icing, sprinkle with sugar stars. Cut a round cake circle into 12 cake pieces. Also brush half of the pieces with red or white icing.

  7. 7

Sprinkle the red pieces immediately with sugar pearls and let them dry. Place the second cake circle on the pudding, turn everything over onto a cake plate. Place squares on the edge of the dome. If necessary, glue them firmly with a little bit of icing.

  8. 8

Place cake pieces on top. Place the star on top of the cake, possibly fasten it with a toothpick. Decorate with a Santa Claus.
