Ingredients

  • 150 g Butter or margarine
  • 175 g Sugar
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 100 g grated plain
  • 7-10 Tbsp chocolate
  • 150 g Flour
  • 1 package Pudding powder
  • 7-10 Tbsp "Chocolate flavor."
  • 7-10 Tbsp (Instant)
  • 2 TEASPOONS Cinnamon
  • 1 TEASPOON cardamom, coriander, cloves, mace
  • 125 ml Milk
  • 200 g ground hazelnuts
  • 2 TEASPOONS Baking Powder
  • 50 g chopped candied orange peel
  • 175 g Apricot Jam
  • 300 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 150 g Icing sugar
  • 20 g ground pistachios
  • 100 g Candied orange peel in one piece
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 7-10 Tbsp Plastic bag

Directions

    Cream fat and sugar. Add eggs. Stir in chocolate and flour. Mix pudding powder, spices and milk. Stir in nuts, baking powder and candied orange peel. Put the dough on a greased baking tray and smooth it down.

    Bake in the preheated oven (electric oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 30 minutes. Let them cool down. Heat up the apricot jam. Spread the cake with it. Knead marzipan paste and icing sugar.

    Take off 100 g of it and knead with pistachios. Roll out the rest between two large cut open plastic bags. Cover the cake with it. Cut rectangles of 6-8 cm with a sharp knife.

    Then roll out the pistachio marzipan. Cut out small fir trees and stars and cut out dough strips. Cut out small stars and triangles from candied orange peel. Decorate the cake with them. Makes about 24 pieces.
