Wash the cherries, remove the stalks and allow to drain. Wash the orange, peel the skin thinly and cut into strips. Squeeze the orange. Bring juice, 3/4 litre water, sugar and star anise to the boil while stirring. Fill cherries into glasses and pour the sugar solution over them.
Close the glasses. Place on the special insert of the preserving pot. Fill the pot with water so that the glasses are 3/4 high in the water. Boil down for approx. 25 minutes at 80°C
