Ingredients

  • 450 g frozen puff pastry
  • 50 g Gruyère cheese
  • 1 Egg Yolk
  • 2 TABLESPOONS coarse salt
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Sesame seed
  • 1 TABLESPOON Caraway seeds
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • baking paper

Directions

    Let the puff pastry thaw. Meanwhile grate Greyezer cheese finely and spread it on 3 pastry plates. Place the remaining puff pastry sheets on top. Roll out the plates on a floured work surface into rectangles of approx. 15 x 24 cm each. Whisk the egg yolk and 4 tablespoons of water and brush the pastry surfaces on both sides.

    Cut crosswise into strips of approx. 2 cm width and turn them into a spiral. Place the sticks on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Sprinkle with salt, sesame or caraway seeds. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for about 10-15 minutes. Results in about 36 sticks
