Cauliflower casserole à la Bolognese

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 500 g waxy potatoes (e.g. Linda)
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 (approx. 800 g) small head cauliflower
  • 1 small onion
  • 300 g Carrots
  • 1 TABLESPOON Oil
  • 500 g Beefsteak minced meat
  • 7-10 Tbsp white pepper
  • 1 TABLESPOON Tomato paste
  • 1 can(s) (425 ml) chunky tomatoes
  • 1 TEASPOON Instant vegetable stock
  • 1 collar Basil
  • 100 g low-fat, grated cheese

Directions

    Peel, wash and cut the potatoes into pieces. Cook in plenty of boiling salted water for about 20 minutes. Clean, wash and cut the cauliflower into florets. Add to the potatoes 10 minutes before the end of the cooking time. Peel, wash and clean the carrots. Grate coarsely and put something (2-3 tablespoons) aside for garnishing.

    Peel and finely chop the onion. Heat the oil in a large pan or pot. Fry the minced meat in it until crumbly. Add onion and carrots and fry briefly. Season with salt and pepper. Add tomato puree and fry briefly. Add tomatoes and 200 ml water. Bring to the boil, stir in broth and simmer for about 10 minutes. Drain potatoes and cauliflower, rinse with cold water and drain. Wash the basil, dab dry, put some aside for garnishing, cut the rest finely. Stir basil into the sauce and season with salt and pepper.

    Add tomato puree and fry briefly. Add tomatoes and 200 ml water. Bring to the boil, stir in broth and simmer for about 10 minutes. Drain potatoes and cauliflower, rinse with cold water and drain. Wash the basil, dab dry, put some aside for garnishing, cut the rest finely. Stir basil into the sauce and season with salt and pepper. Arrange the cauliflower and potatoes in an ovenproof dish. Pour the minced sauce over it. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake in a preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 15 minutes. Sprinkle with carrot shavings and garnish with basil
