Let the dough rest briefly at room temperature. Melt the butter. Preheat oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/circulating air: 175 °C/gas: see manufacturer).
Place 2 pastry sheets on top of each other according to the instructions on the packet and spread some butter between them. Spread with cream cheese. Grate cheese. Spread ham and cheese on top. Beat the long sides inwards for about 4 cm each, roll up the strudel.
Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Add the rest of the butter and cheese. Bake in a hot oven for about 15 minutes. Serve with salad.
