Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Walnut kernels
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Pistachio kernels
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp grated peel of 1 organic orange
  • 8 ripe figs (about 80 g each)
  • 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat oven (electric cooker: 200°C/circulating air: 175°C/gas: level 3). Coarsely chop nuts and pistachios. Boil up sugar and 5 tablespoons of water. Simmer for about 1 minute until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in nuts, pistachios and orange peel.

  2. 2

Wash the figs, dab dry and remove the stalks. Make a star-shaped incision at the top of each fig and pull the prongs apart slightly so that the fruit opens slightly. Place each fig in an ovenproof dish or a large mould.

  3. 3

    Drizzle pistachio syrup over it.

  4. 4

Bake figs in a hot oven for about 12 minutes. Remove and serve with 1 scoop of ice cream.
