Ingredients

Servings: 8
  • 4 sour cooked apples 700-750 g (e.g. Boskop)
  • 50 g + 2 tablespoons fine sugar
  • 1 knife tip ground cloves
  • 50 g spreadable coconut oil
  • 50 g cold butter
  • 175 g Flour
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Milk
  • 1 knife tip ground cinnamon
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease

Directions

  1. 1

Peel and core apples and cut them into thick slices. Place half of the apples on the bottom of a flat, greased pie dish (approx. 24 cm Ø, capacity approx. 900 ml). Mix 50 g sugar and cloves and sprinkle half of the mixture over the apples. Place the remaining apples on top and sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture. Sprinkle with 3 tbsp. cold water

  2. 2

Put coconut oil and butter in pieces in a bowl with the flour and 1 tablespoon of cold water and knead into a smooth dough with your hands. Roll out the dough on a floured work surface and place it round (slightly larger than the diameter of the pie dish) on the apples. Press the edges into a slightly wavy shape with your fingers or the handle of a mixing spoon. Chill the pie for about 30 minutes

  3. 3

Spread the dough with milk and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar. Cut a small slit in the middle of the dough. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: see manufacturer) on the middle shelf for approx. 45 minutes until golden brown. If the pie gets too brown, finish baking on the lower rack and cover with aluminium foil. Mix 1 tbsp. sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle the finished pie with it
