Apple brittle cake

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of (530 g) Fresh yeast cake dough (rolled out on baking paper)
  • 1.2 kg red-shelled apple
  • 1 TEASPOON ground cinnamon
  • 10 TABLESPOONS Sugar
  • 50 g almonds without skin
  • 7-10 Tbsp Aluminium foil

Directions

    Remove the dough from the packaging and roll it out on the rolled baking paper directly on a baking tray. Prick the dough several times with a fork. Wash the apples and grate them dry. Cut out the cores with an apple cutter. Cut the apples into rings and cover the cake evenly with them.

    Mix cinnamon and 4 tablespoons of sugar and sprinkle apples with it. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2) for 25-30 minutes. In the meantime spread almonds on a piece of aluminium foil. Caramelise 6 tablespoons of sugar in a pan. As soon as the sugar is liquid and golden yellow, sprinkle almonds with it. Let it cool down. Coarsely chop half of the almond caramel. Break the remaining caramel into pieces. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool on a cake rack.
