Ingredients

  • 1/4 l Milk
  • 1 cube (42 g) Yeast
  • 500 g Flour
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 egg (size M)
  • 45 g Butter or margarine
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 1 kg Apples
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 200 ml apple juice
  • 1 piece(s) (approx. 3 cm) Cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 l Milk
  • 75 g Sugar
  • 1 package Pudding powder "Vanilla Flavor"
  • 75 g Butter
  • 50 g flaked almonds

Directions

    Warm milk, dissolve yeast in it. Mix flour, vanillin sugar, sugar, salt, egg and fat in flakes. Pour warm milk on top and knead into a smooth dough with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes. In the meantime peel apples, quarter them and cut out the core. Put apples, vanilla sugar, sugar, apple juice and cinnamon stick into a pot, mix and bring to the boil. Simmer for about 12 minutes at medium heat. Pour the compote into a bowl and let it cool down. Halve the yeast dough, knead again with floured hands and roll out one half in a greased fat pan (32x39 cm). Spread cooled apple compote on top. Roll out the rest of the yeast dough on a floured work surface to form a rectangle (32x39 cm), flour lightly, fold the sides down to the middle and place on the fat pan. Fold out the yeast dough again to a plate. Leave the cake to rise for another 20 minutes in a warm place. In the meantime, stir 4 tablespoons of milk, 25 g sugar and pudding powder until smooth for the topping. Bring the remaining milk to the boil, stir in the pudding powder and bring to the boil again while stirring. Let the pudding cool down a little while stirring. Press into the surface of the cake, close to each other. Distribute the pudding and fat in flakes in the hollows. Sprinkle with 50 g sugar and flaked almonds and bake in a preheated oven (electric range: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for 25-30 minutes. Results in approx. 24 pieces
