Ingredients

  • 2 Glasses (212 ml each; separation weight: 130 g) Amarena cherries
  • 200 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 500 g Flour
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 2 Eggs (size M)
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 250 g Low-fat curd
  • 250 g soft butter
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 100 g Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • baking paper

Directions

    Drain the Amarena cherries well, dab dry with kitchen paper. Roughly chop the cherries. Coarsely grate marzipan. Mix flour and baking powder in a bowl. Add marzipan, eggs, 100 g sugar, vanillin sugar, quark, 125 g butter in pieces and salt. Knead first with the dough hooks of the hand mixer, then with your hands to a smooth dough.

    Knead the cherries into the dough. Roll out the dough rectangularly (approx. 30 x 35 cm) on a work surface dusted with flour. Roll up and form into a stollen. Place diagonally on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in the preheated oven (electric oven: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for approx. 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature (electric oven: 175 °C/ convection oven: 150 °C/ gas: level 2). Bake for another 20-30 minutes. Cover at the end of the baking time if necessary. Melt 125 g butter. Remove the stollen from the oven. Brush with half of the butter and sprinkle with 50 g sugar. Repeat with remaining butter and 50 g sugar.
