The onions are peeled, cut into cubes and steamed in hot oil. Add the rice, sauté in the oil and add water so that the rice is covered about three centimetres high.
Gradually add the stock cubes, crushed garlic cloves, dates or raisins, pumpkin flesh, and finally the spices.
When the rice is cooked and the dish is well seasoned, it can be served garnished with chopped chives.
