White cabbage stew with Kasseler

Ingredients

  • 500 g Carrots
  • 4 medium-sized tomatoes
  • 1-2 Bay leaves
  • 1 TEASPOON Peppercorns
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Tomato paste
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 4 Slices (approx. 60 g each)
  • 7-10 Tbsp farmhouse bread

Directions

    Soak clay pot (approx. 3.5 l capacity) with lid in cold water for approx. 15 minutes

    Clean, wash and quarter the cabbage and remove the stalk. Cut the cabbage into large pieces. Peel and wash the carrots. Wash the tomatoes. Cut both into pieces. Wash the smoked pork, dab dry and cut into cubes

    Dry the clay pot. Mix the prepared vegetables, smoked pork loin, bay leaf and peppercorns and fill in. Mix almost 3/8 l water and tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper and pour over

    Place everything covered in the cold oven and cook at 200 °C (fan oven: 175 °C/gas: level 3) for about 1 1/4 hours. Add bread
