Ingredients

  • 100 g soft butter or
  • 7-10 Tbsp Margarine
  • 200 g Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Rum
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 500 g Flour
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Milk
  • 75 g dried apple rings
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 kg white vegetable fat
  • 7-10 Tbsp for baking

Directions

    Cream fat, 100 g sugar, salt and rum. Stir in eggs one after the other. Mix flour and baking powder. Mix about 3 tablespoons of flour with the fat-egg mixture. Add the rest of the flour and milk and mix to a smooth dough with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Finely dice and knead apple rings. chill for 15-20 minutes

    Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface to a thickness of approx. 3 mm. Cut rings with 2 round cookie cutters (approx. 8.5 cm and 3.5 cm Ø)

    Heat vegetable fat in a high pot or deep fryer to 180 °C. Fry the rings and cut out circles (middle) in portions. Lift out the pastries with a skimmer and let them drip off a little on kitchen paper. Roll in the remaining sugar while still hot
