Pin the sausage string with a long wooden skewer and blanch with boiling water for two to three minutes. Peel, wash and thinly slice the potatoes. Wash the marjoram and pluck the leaves from the stalks.
Drain the sausage string well and prick it several times with a wooden skewer so that it does not burst when roasting. Heat the lard in a pan and fry the sausage ring well on both sides. Lift it out, put potato slices into the pan and season with salt, pepper and marjoram (except for a little to garnish).
Place the sausage ring on top and pour cream over it. Cover the pan and additionally wrap it with aluminium foil. Cook in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ gas: level 3) for one hour. Serve sprinkled with remaining marjoram.
Salad tastes good with it.
