Ingredients

Servings: 3
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and flour
  • 150 g liquid honey
  • 100 g + 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 fresh eggs (Gr. M)
  • 375 g + some flour
  • 1 slightly heaped Tsp Cocoa
  • 1 heaped Tsp baking powder
  • 11/2 TSP Gingerbread spice
  • 6 sheets red gelatine
  • 400 g Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pastry decorations and almond kernels
  • 1 disposable piping bag or 1 medium-sized plastic bag

Directions

  1. 1

Grease 1 baking tray, dust it with flour. Heat honey, 100 g sugar and 2 tablespoons water while stirring over medium heat until everything is dissolved. Let it cool down for 10 minutes. Preheat the oven: Electric range: 175 °C/AC: 150 °C/gas: Stage 2. Separates 2 eggs. Beat 2 egg yolks, 1 egg and 2 tablespoons of sugar until creamy. Stir in the honey. Mix 375 g flour, cocoa, baking powder and spice. Knead it first with the dough hooks of the hand mixer, then briefly with your hands

  2. 2

Dust the dough with a little flour and roll it out on the tray. Put it in the oven and bake it for about 20 minutes. Let it cool down for about 5 minutes. Then cut 12 rectangles (each approx. 8 x 10 cm) from it. Use a cookie cutter to cut a small cookie (e.g. star or heart) from the middle of each rectangle. Let everything cool down

  3. 3

Cut the gelatine sheets 1 x in the middle. Now beat 2 egg whites and icing sugar with the whisk of the hand mixer until thick and creamy. Fill the icing into the disposable piping bag, cut a small tip off the bag. Spray some egg white icing on the edges of the gelatine leaves, stick it from behind in front of the cut out openings

  4. 4

Spray cast iron on the long sides of the rectangles and glue 4 rectangles to 1 lantern each. Leave to dry for about 1 hour. Decorate the lanterns and biscuits with the rest of the icing, sticking biscuit decorations, almonds and the biscuits onto the lanterns. Leave everything to dry. Now you can place the lanterns on a fireproof surface and put 1 tea light in each one
