Summer Fruit Chutney

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Nectarines
  • 600 g Sour cherries
  • 300 g Blackberries
  • 1 Organic Orange
  • 300 g finest sugar (alternatively honey)
  • 150 ml White wine vinegar
  • 1 TEASPOON Peppercorns
  • 1/2 TEASPOON ground cloves
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks

Directions

    Wash the nectarines, halve, stone and dice the flesh. Wash the cherries, remove the stalks, stone and halve the fruit. Sort the blackberries, wash carefully if necessary. Wash the orange hot, dry and finely grate the skin.

    Put the fruit, orange peel, sugar and vinegar in a pot. Finely crush pepper in a mortar. Add pepper, cloves and cinnamon sticks to the chutney. Bring to the boil and simmer for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

    Remove the cinnamon. Pour chutney into glasses immediately. Tastes good with cheese, steak and game dishes.
