Wash, halve and stone the plums. Pour the fruit into thoroughly cleaned preserving jars to 2 cm below the rim. Put cinnamon sticks and star anise into the jars. Bring 1 litre of water, sugar and lemon juice briefly to the boil.
Then let it cool down and pour over the plums. Close the jars with the rubber ring, lid and clip and boil down in the stew pot at 80°C for about 30 minutes. Makes 4 jars of 1 litre each.
