Spanish prawns with garlic and olives

Ingredients

Servings: 4
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 red chilli pepper
  • 1/2 untreated lemon
  • 2-3 stem(s) fresh thyme
  • 16 (approx. 700 g/plastered approx. 480 g) King prawns without head
  • 1-2 Bay leaves
  • 100 ml Olive oil
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp about 50 g each of green and black olives

Directions

    Peel the garlic and cut into thin slices. Wash the chilli, cut lengthwise, remove seeds and cut into fine rings. Cut lemon into slices. Wash thyme, dab dry and chop the leaves finely. Remove the shrimps from their shells and remove the intestines. Wash the prawns and pat them dry well. Put garlic, chilli, thyme, bay leaf, lemon and prawns in a bowl.

    Pour olive oil over them and let them stand for about 2 hours. Drain the prawns and collect the marinade. Heat some oil in a frying pan and fry the prawns for 5-6 minutes while turning. Add garlic and chilli at the end and fry briefly. Season with salt and place in a bowl with the olives. Serve garnished with lemon wedges and laurel. Serve with fresh white bread
