Cook the spaghetti in plenty of boiling salted water for about 8 minutes. In the meantime peel garlic and press it through a garlic press. Carve the chilli lengthwise, remove seeds and chop. Clean and wash the tomatoes and cut them into small cubes.
Cut Cabanossi into fine slices. Pluck the basil leaves. Heat olive oil. Stew garlic, chilli and tomatoes for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Fold in slices of sausage. Arrange spaghetti and sauce sprinkled with basil.
If you like it, you can add chillies or peppers pulled through dough and deep-fried.
