Ingredients

  • 500 g Flour
  • 1 TABLESPOON Sugar
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Salt
  • 150 g Butter or margarine
  • 100 ml + 1 tsp milk
  • 1 cube (42 g) Yeast
  • 3 Eggs (size M)
  • 1 Egg yolk (size M)
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Sugar crystals
  • 100 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 10 g Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp a few drops of green food colouring
  • 7-10 Tbsp Icing sugar
  • 7-10 Tbsp Chocolate blossoms in colourful foil
  • 7-10 Tbsp Flour
  • baking paper

Directions

    Mix flour, sugar and salt. Melt the fat, add 100 ml milk. Dissolve yeast in it. Add the lukewarm yeast mixture and eggs to the flour and work into a smooth dough with the dough hooks of the hand mixer. Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.

    Divide into about 30 pieces. Form each piece into a roll (1 cm Ø) on a floured work surface. Weave 3 rolls into a braid. Lay them inside each other to form nests. Cover and leave to rise for about 15 minutes. In the meantime whisk the egg yolk and 1 teaspoon of milk. Brush the nests with it and sprinkle with sugar crystals. Place on 2 baking trays lined with baking paper. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3) for 10-15 minutes. In the meantime knead marzipan and icing sugar.
