Sauerkraut with sausages and mashed potatoes

Ingredients

  • 3 Onions
  • 1 red pepper
  • 12 (à 20 g) Nuremberg bratwursts
  • 100 g Bacon cubes
  • 1 can(s) (850 ml) Sauerkraut
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 bags of mashed potatoes heartily spiced
  • 250 ml Milk
  • 4 Stem(s) Marjoram
  • 7-10 Tbsp Marjoram
  • 8 wooden skewers

Directions

    Peel the onions. Cut one onion into strips. Peppers, quarter, clean, wash and cut into wide strips. Cut the rest of the onions into slices. Fry the sausages and bacon in a pan without fat at medium heat for about eight minutes, remove and keep warm.

    Fry the onion slices and bell peppers in hot frying fat for four minutes until transparent. Remove. Put the onion strips and sauerkraut into the pan and cook for ten to 15 minutes, stirring continuously. Season to taste with salt, pepper and sugar.

    In the meantime, cut the sausages in half, alternately put them on skewers with paprika and onions and keep them warm. Boil 750 millilitres of water with a teaspoon of salt. Remove the pot from the stove. Add milk and stir in the puree flakes with a wooden spoon.

    Wash the marjoram, dab dry and pluck the leaves from the stalks. Mix the bacon cubes with the herb. Arrange mashed potatoes, sauerkraut and sausage skewers on plates. Sprinkle marjoram over the mashed potatoes.

    Garnish with marjoram.
