Peel and finely chop the onion. Knead with the mince and the spices. Form small balls. Clean, wash and cut the fennel into strips. Fry meatballs in hot oil all around.
Take it out. Sauté the fennel in the frying fat. Add stock and bring to the boil. Add lentils and cook for 10 minutes. Add the pumpkin pieces with 2 tablespoons of juice and heat them up. Season stew with salt and pepper.
Wash the chives, cut into small rolls and sprinkle over the stew.
