Beat the eggs and cream. Rub marzipan into it, season with rum. Turn white bread slices in it, let them soak for 10 minutes. In the meantime wash apples, grate them dry and cut out the core. Cut apples into thin slices. Melt butter in a pan. Fry the apple rings for about 2 minutes, sprinkle with lemon juice and turn once.
Remove the slices of bread from the egg cream and place them in an ovenproof dish or on a baking tray. Spread apple rings on top. Drizzle the remaining egg cream on top. Bake for approx. 10 minutes in a preheated oven (electric range: 200 °C/ convection oven: 175 °C/ gas: level 3). Serve with cranberries. Walnut ice cream tastes good with it
