Heat beer, 150 ml water and 3 tablespoons of oil. Gradually stir into the flour. Season vigorously with salt and pepper. Leave to swell for about 10 minutes.
Wash the prawns, dab dry. Heat 1/2 l oil in a deep fryer or a high pot to approx. 180 °C. Beat the egg white lightly and fold into the dough. Pull the prawns through the dough and bake in portions in hot oil for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper
