Ingredients

  • 1 kg Wooden apples
  • 2–3 Strips of lemon peel
  • 450 g Sugar
  • 450 ml Red wine vinegar
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1–2 Cloves
  • 3 Peppercorns

Directions

    Washing apples. Boil with lemon peel and 900 ml water until the apples are soft. Drain and collect the liquid. Mix sugar, vinegar and 700 ml of the collected liquid in the pot. Fill spices into a bag and add.

    Slowly heat while stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Cook for about 1 minute. Add the apples and simmer for about 30 minutes until the liquid has boiled down to a syrup that covers the apples. Remove the spice bag after about 30 minutes. Fill apples and syrup into 6 preserving jars (340 ml each) and close tightly
