Ingredients

  • 1 kg Pears
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Lemon juice
  • 400 g Flour
  • 1 package Baking Powder
  • 6 Eggs
  • 1/2 TEASPOON Salt
  • 200 g Butter or margarine
  • 2 packages (100 g each) Bacon
  • 1/8 l White wine

Directions

    Peel, quarter and core the pears. Bring 1/2 litre water, 50 g sugar and lemon juice to the boil. Boil pears in it for 5-8 minutes, drain. Mix flour, baking powder, 4 eggs, salt, fat and 1/8 litre water to a smooth dough.

    Line the bottom and rim of an ovenproof dish (2 litre capacity) with slices of bacon. Leave bacon to stand approx. 3 cm above the edge. Layer dough and pears alternately. Place excess bacon in the middle.

    Bake in the preheated oven (electric: 175 ° C / gas: level 2) for 1-1 1/4 hours. In the meantime, beat the remaining eggs, sugar and wine in a hot water bath until the mixture rises.
