Ingredients

Servings: 1
  • 250 g soft butter or margarine
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 1 package Vanillin sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 250 g Flour
  • 2 coated Tsp
  • 7-10 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 untreated orange
  • 100 g Icing sugar
  • 1 TABLESPOON Orange liqueur
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and breadcrumbs
  • 7-10 Tbsp for the mould

Directions

  1. 1

Cream fat and sugar with the whisk of the hand mixer. Add the eggs bit by bit. Stir in vanillin sugar and salt. Mix flour and baking powder and stir into the dough.

  2. 2

Grease a ring cake tin (capacity 1.5 litres) and sprinkle lightly with breadcrumbs. Fill in the dough. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for approx. 60 minutes. Let the cake cool down a little, turn out of the tin and place on a cake rack.

  3. 3

Let it cool down. Wash the orange, dab dry and peel off fine orange strips with a Julienne ripper. (If you do not have this special knife, peel the peel of the orange thinly and cut it into very fine strips). Halve the orange and squeeze it.

  4. 4

Prick the cake several times with a wooden stick, soak it with orange juice and let it soak through well. Mix icing sugar with 2 teaspoons of water and liqueur. Spread the icing over the cake. Sprinkle with orange strips.

  5. 5

    Makes 12 pieces.
