Ingredients

  • 200 g soft butter or margarine
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon point turmeric
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 4 Eggs (size M)
  • 350 g Flour
  • 1/2 package Baking Powder
  • 1 package (6 g) Orange-Back
  • 50 g chopped almonds
  • 6 TABLESPOONS Whipped cream
  • 100 g Marzipan raw mass
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Icing sugar
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Orange marmalade
  • 2 (100 g each) Milk orange chocolate bars
  • 7-10 Tbsp lemon balm, candied orange slices and almonds
  • 7-10 Tbsp Fat and semolina

Directions

    Cream fat, sugar, turmeric and salt. Stir in eggs bit by bit. Mix flour, baking powder and orange-back and stir into the fat-egg mixture. Stir in almonds and whipped cream. Fill the dough into a greased and semolina-spreaded box form (26 cm long) and smooth it down. Bake in the preheated oven (electric cooker: 175 °C/ gas: level 2) for about 1 1/4 hours.

    Let it cool down on a cake rack and turn out of the tin. Knead marzipan and icing sugar. Roll out rectangularly in the size of the cake base. Cut the cake lengthwise in the middle. Warm up the jam. Spread a thin layer on the lower half of the cake. Add marzipan. Spread the rest of the jam on the marzipan. Place the upper cake half on top and press down lightly. Roughly chop the chocolate and let it melt in a bain-marie while stirring. Cover the cake with the chocolate and let it cool down.
