Onion meat loaf with paprika vegetables

Ingredients

  • 1 Bread rolls from the previous day
  • 1-2 Garlic cloves
  • 750 g mixed minced meat
  • 1 TABLESPOON Tomato paste
  • 1 egg, salt, white pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Grease
  • 2 medium-sized onions
  • 100 g Sour cream or crème fraîche
  • 1 1/2 TSP. Sweet peppers
  • 1 kg Peppers (red, green, yellow)
  • 2 TABLESPOONS Oil (e.g. olive oil)
  • 1/8 l Tomato juice
  • 7-10 Tbsp Basil

Directions

    Soak rolls in water. Peel and chop the garlic. Knead minced, squeezed out roll, garlic, tomato paste and egg. Season with salt and pepper. Form the minced mass into a loaf

    Place the chopped loaf on a greased baking tray. In the preheated oven (electric cooker: 200 °C / convection oven: 175 °C / gas: level 3) first roast for 50 minutes

    In the meantime, peel the onions and cut them into rings. Then mix with sour cream and season with sweet paprika. Clean and wash the peppers and cut them into bite-sized pieces

    After 50 minutes, spread the onion and sour cream mixture evenly on the meatloaf and fry for another 10 minutes

    Heat the oil in a frying pan. Fry the pepper pieces for about 5 minutes, turning frequently. Season with salt and pepper. Add tomato juice, bring to the boil and cook everything approx.

    Simmer for 3 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and sweet paprika

    Take the meatloaf out of the oven. Let it rest for a short time so that the meat juice can settle a little. Then cut into slices. Arrange on a large preheated plate with the paprika vegetables as desired. Garnish with basil leaves as desired. Boiled potatoes taste good with it
