Noodles in tomato-bacon sauce

Ingredients

  • 400 g Spaghetti
  • 7-10 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1/2 (approx. 400 g) Head broccoli
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Oil
  • 100 g smoked streaky bacon in cubes
  • 600 g Tomatoes
  • 3 TABLESPOONS Tomato paste
  • 7-10 Tbsp Pepper
  • 7-10 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 TEASPOONS dried basil

Directions

    Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to the instructions on the packet. Peel and chop the onion. Clean and wash the broccoli and cut into florets. Cut the florets into slices. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a saucepan.

    Leave the bacon cubes in it for 2-3 minutes while turning them until crispy, remove them. Add broccoli and 100 ml water to the hot bacon fat, cover and steam for 3-4 minutes until al dente. Meanwhile wash, clean and dice the tomatoes. Remove the broccoli. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a saucepan. Fry onion and garlic. Add tomatoes, tomato paste and 200 ml water, cover and simmer for about 5 minutes. Add bacon and broccoli and simmer for 1-2 minutes. Season sauce with salt, pepper, sugar and 1 teaspoon basil.
